The Reckoner

A worked example. Make it yours.

Copy the numbers from your host's Service Level Agreement, list the outages you saw, and the Reckoner works out each month's uptime, the credit the agreement promises and the last day to claim it. Nothing is stored unless you press Save.

Docket Pass: $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year · Free during preview: every Pass feature is on and nobody is charged. During preview every case reckons up to 500 outages. When checkout opens, free cases reckon up to 15 and the Docket Pass keeps the 500, 10 saved cases and the downloads.

Subject: Service credit request, Shared hosting, bakery website, October 2026

Hello,

Under the uptime commitment in your Service Level Agreement ([SLA section or link]), I am requesting a service credit for Shared hosting, bakery website on account [account number] for October 2026.

The service was unavailable during these periods (times are Eastern (New York)):
- 2026-10-04 13:10 to 2026-10-04 14:52 (1 h 42 min)
- 2026-10-31 22:15 to 2026-11-01 00:00 (1 h 45 min)

Total downtime counted: 3 h 27 min of the 44,640 minutes in the month, so availability was 99.5362% against the 99.9% commitment.
Your SLA lists a credit of 10% of the monthly fee when availability is below 99.9%. On a monthly fee of $14.99 that is $1.50.

Please apply the credit to the account and confirm by reply. I am sending this within the claim period (by 2026-11-30).

Thank you,
[your name]
